Under the patronage of the Mayor of Odesa, the Center for Social Services of the Odesa City Council, together with the "International Anti-Drug Association" and the "Renaissance and Unity" Foundation, organized a lecture on the concept of chemical dependence for students of the International Humanitarian University as part of the Week of Good Deeds project.
Alcoholism, drug addiction, and substance abuse are progressive diseases that result from the systematic abuse of alcohol (in case of alcoholism), narcotic drugs (in case of drug addiction), or other psychoactive substances not included in the list of drugs (in case of substance abuse), and contribute to the formation of mental and physical dependence on the substance, pathological craving for its use, changes in the body's reactivity, withdrawal disorders, and specific personality changes.
The event is aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people, drawing attention to a problem that affects many people, and raising public awareness.
